Beighton Nursery Infant School was originally built in 1880 and the first floor was added in 1896. The Nursery class is also part of the school and was opened in January 1975. The school has been considerably modernised under Sheffield Education Authority.
The School is a co-educational, mixed ablity Nursery, Infant Community school, maintained by Sheffield Metropolitan District Council but advised and assisted by a Board of Governors which meets each term and which is actively concerned in the general organisation and curriculum needs of the school. The age range of children is from 3 to 7 years.
Our school is situated in pleasant surroundings with a large playground and garden areas overlooking the lake at Rother Valley Country Park, a perfect setting for environmental study and enjoyable walks during all seasons.
We attempt to create a happy caring atmosphere, a supportive first step for children from their home to the world outside. Each child is encouraged to give of their best and to develop their own particular interests and talents.
