Beighton Nursery and Infant School

          School/class events

This half-term has been busy, we have had a variety of events in school which the children have enjoyed and benefitted from. Kinetic Science Theatre came to KS1, Skipping Workshops encouraged everyone in main school to ‘have a go’ at skipping, then develop their skill. We do hope this will continue in the playground.

Health Week has been a resounding success, with visits from the Lollipop Lady, Westfield Sports partnership, Sainsbury’s food tasting, and lots of very exciting things going on in the classrooms.

Visits to Sundown Adventure Park for Y2’s and the Butterfly House for F2’s also added to the week, with the theme of Health and Safety.

Thank you for your help with the Toy and Book sale organised and advertised by the Y2’s. It was most successful, raising £173. We are sending this to the NSPCC, who came to talk to the school about their work with less fortunate children.

Harvest Festival

Thank you for all the generous donations of fruit and vegetables, which were distributed between and much appreciated by

Haddon Court

and the Salvation Army kitchens.

School Uniform

Please remember that the new sweatshirt or cardigan, embroidered with the school logo, can be ordered through school at any time during the year. This new sweatshirt is not compulsory; however we do seem to have many children now wearing it. Thank you.

Please could you make sure that ALL clothing is named.

Parking around the School

Parking is as always an issue which does not appear to get any better. Please park in the correct places, before and after school. Please do not park across gateways and on pavements or on the yellow lines when waiting to drop off and collect children.

In addition please do not use the staff car park for dropping off or collecting children.

Remember it could be your child who is injured.

Can you help us please?

We are looking out for some medium sized toy cars (i.e. not dinky cars) for the children to play with during lunch time. Please could you bring these into your child’s class for collection if you can help. Thank you.

Fobbins

Our very grateful thanks for organising the Y1/Y2 disco. Also for the most generous cheque for £2000 which was presented to the school at the very end of the summer term.
